Spreading the principles of HSP09.30.08

Dahn Foundation programs can take many forms by applying the principles of HSP and BEST. The Jang Saeng (longevity) walking program can be offered as a small workshop or as a HSP walking event.

Jang Saeng (Longevity) Walking

The Jang Saeng (JS) walking method is a walking technology for health and longevity. Jang Saeng (longevity) walking is a simple variation in walking style that can help you to correct your hip joints and spine allowing for better blood and energy circulation throughout your whole body. Dahn Foundation volunteers are holding seminars to teach the methods of JS walking to the community. Dahn Foundation is planning to hold HSP walking events and public lectures in 2008.

Sedona Story09.24.08

As Brain Education evolved, Ilchi Lee realized the importance of sharing his techniques outside of Korea. Attracted to the powerful cultural diversity of the United States, he visited the country in 1995. Driving across the country, he discovered Sedona, Arizona, a land of extraordinary natural beauty and rich Native American cultural heritage. To some, Sedona is a quaint little tourist town isolated in Arizona’s high desert. But in Lee’s mind, it is a perfectly inspiring area where many people from various cultures can gather to explore the creation of a more healthy and peaceful world.

In Sedona’s scenic and sacred landscape, Ilchi Lee started guiding nature walks to share his philosophy and practices with visitors to Sedona. Soon thereafter, he founded the Sedona Ilchi Meditation Center at Mago Garden, in the middle of a beautiful national forest. Creating a place to harmonize humanity and nature, this Center offers training courses in healing, meditation, leadership, and personal growth to people from all parts of the world.

Manage Your Stress09.18.08

The ability to manage stress is the holy grail of brain management. Every other attempt to develop and use your brain well can be thwarted if you do not gain some level of control over your stress response. Unmanaged, habitual stress reactions interrupt the learning process, contribute dramatically to brain aging, and are at the root of numerous chronic disease conditions.
First of all, though, you should know that stress is not all bad. It is this process that allows us to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations. When managed appropriately, the stress response helps stimulate the brain, improving mood and encouraging creative problem solving. Researchers
have found that minor amounts of stress, such as that experienced during basic life and occupational challenges, actually improve immune function, while extreme or prolonged stress has the opposite effect.

The Story of Brain09.16.08

Did you ever stop to consider that your brain remembers even further back into your past than your childhood?
Can you imagine that it holds elements that could go even further back than your conception?

This may seem strange at first, but it is really not as mystical as it sounds.
The human brain contains a record of the evolution of sentient life on this planet within its basic structures. When you think of the human brain and its marvelous capabilities, you probably think of all the marvelous creations that come from the human being’s highly developed cortical region. This development in the human brain was essential to creating the dominant role we enjoy on the planet. None of the great culture,
bustling cities, or life-changing technologies that define our human experience would be possible without the prefrontal cortex of the human brain.

But the story does not end there.

Ilchi Lee on Brain Wave Vibration07.30.08

The essential difference between the psychiatric approach to a spiritual problem and the shamanic approach to a problem is that the former tries to solve the problem through rational understanding, while the latter accepts the ineffable nature of human existence. Modern psychology has developed many useful ways of dissecting and defining a problem. Shamanic traditions, on the other hand, says Ilchi Lee, accept that a vast, incomprehensible universe exists within each person, and that total understanding is an impossible goal. That is why, as Keeney describes it, primitive cultures move the person into the mystery of life, rather than avoid it through rational understanding of things. Please ask any questions to Ilchi Lee, the creator of Brain Wave Vibration at his website.

Ilchi Lee says “I am told that the word heal in English is derived from a word meaning “to make whole.” I believe that Brain Wave Vibration offers this sort of wholeness to practitioners. It is fine to seek a rational understanding of the problems that trouble you, but ultimately you will need to go beyond the rational to really get in touch with the vastness of your being. Within that vastness, you will find the eternal wisdom and healing that has always been your from the beginning of time.

In essence, Brain Wave Vibration is taught in local Dahn Yoga centers near you.

Dahn Yoga and Gastrointestinal Disorders07.14.08

By performing abdominal breathing, your abdomen will become warm with Ki energy surges. Blockages are released and maximal functioning of the stomach and other vital organs can be achieved. Continuous practice will help you to achieve a balance of Water up, Fire Down.

Dahn Yoga on Gastrointestinal Disorders07.09.08

Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders affect the digestive system, which then affects your overall well-being. Symptoms may include diarrhea, constipation, bleeding from the digestive tract, regurgitation, difficulty swallowing, abdominal pain, flatulence, loss of appetite, and nausea.

Negative emotions and worrisome thoughts are often internalized within the gastrointestinal system, impairing its ability to function properly. Practice abdominal breathing to calm the mind and body, control Ki energy, and minimize the opportunity for emotions to affect your digestion. With Dahn Yoga practice, try closing your eyes and using mind’s eye to scan your body from the top of your head down to your toes. As you concentrate in this way, you are helping to bring fire energy down to the lower abdomen to aid in digestion.
